In 2017, Cornerstone celebrated 50 years of providing services to homeless and formerly homeless individuals in Durham Region. In 50 years we have expanded from a six bed hostel to a full-service 40 bed emergency shelter, a 20 bed correctional half-way house, a landlord of 56 units of affordable supportive housing, and a Community Outreach team.
There is some excellent research being done around the issue of homelessness. We would like to share with you articles that help to highlight the issues and progress that is being made in servicing the homeless, mental health and other important social issues.
We are excited to announce our new Bridges Street Outreach Program to assist unsheltered individuals in Durham Region.
